Why conduct background screening?

In today's environment, you can never be too sure of who you are hiring. Background screening has been shown to reduce negligent hiring lawsuits, reduce workplace violence, and promote a safer work environment.

How long does it take?

Turnaround for background reports generally takes 12 to 48 hours. (Some States/Counties require additional time if records are "clerk pulled")

How do we do it?

Over the years we have established a solid network of researchers nationwide. All research requests are sent directly to researchers located in the State or County needed. Our searches are "Real-time" searches, and actual court runners are used where needed.

Why outsource screening?

Accuracy, fairness, liability and privacy are promoted through Total Screening Solutions. Private employers are not considered protected by the FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) when in-house background investigations are performed.

Why use Total Screening Solutions?

We offer a wide range of hiring tools and services; very few companies offer both background screening and drug testing services in the same facility. We pride ourselves on unsurpassed customer service. Total Screening Solutions has over 10 years' experience and is FCRA compliant. We are a member of the Better Business Bureau and the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce. We are DOT certified and follow NAPBS and NAID guidelines.

Can I be certain the applicant's information is protected?

Absolutely. Total Screening Solutions is FCRA compliant and confidentiality is never compromised. All data is stored off-site and backed up daily. All hardcopy paperwork is secured and destroyed by ProShred of Charlotte.

Why should we conduct drug tests?

Drug testing proves to be beneficial for many reasons. Many insurance companies will reduce rates for liability insurance and workers' compensation insurance if drug testing is performed prior to employment and if a Drug-Free Workplace policy is in place.

How is drug testing performed?

All our drug screenings are done through urinalysis. Our 10 Panel Instant tests are completed in about 5 minutes. The 10 Panel Lab tests are collected and sent to the lab each night, all negatives are reported out within 24 hours of collection. Some specimens may require additional screening and can remain at the lab for 72 hours. All Non-Negative results are sent to the MRO (Medical Review Officer) for confirmation of valid prescription history, as required by law.

Why use Total Screening Solutions for drug testing?

Our Staff and Lab technicians are certified by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and adhere to Federal Regulated DOT Guidelines for all collections. We also offer DOT management and Non-DOT Random Drug Screening managed services.
